REDFERN

LANDSCAPE DESIGN PROJECT

This generous 77m2 rooftop garden belongs to a gay couple who wanted the design to have a masculine aesthetic. The natural split-stone flooring anchors the space and throws off a lot of colour into other elements in the garden. The handmade, graphic, black & white Moroccan tiles, weather beautifully to an aged patina. The plants selected have a lot of varied textures in habit and tones of calming soft grey-greens, and they are robust, hardy types that can take the elements on the roof.

The play on texture and tone is continued with the eclectic mix of pots and the use of timber panelling on the outdoor lounge walls adds wonderful warmth. With its contemporary and comfortable furnishings and tonal palette, this urban oasis is the perfect calm space for easy living in the city.
