The Landscape Design Institute (LDI) has announced the winners of the 2025 National Landscape Design Awards, in a stellar celebration held at Terrace on the Domain, overlooking the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney.

With over 120 guests in attendance and entrants representing most Australian states, the event showcased the highest calibre of landscape design talent across residential, commercial, community and plantscape categories.

“These awards are a tribute not only to the artistry and professionalism of our members, but also to a community who support and celebrate each other’s work” said LDI’s Marketing & Communications Coordinator Kate Ashton.

“From compact courtyards to expansive rural landscapes, the work on display reflects the incredible depth and breadth of Australia’s landscape design profession.”

Our awards

The Landscape Design Institute 2025 National Landscape Design Awards won by Adam Robinson Design:

Gold – Plantscape Designer of the Year - Plantscape Residential for ‘Pyrmont Skygarden’.
Gold – Residential Design - Small-Sized Landscape for ‘Federation Garden’.
Silver – Residential Design - Balcony, Courtyard, Rooftop for ‘Pyrmont Skygarden’.
Silver – Residential Design - Small-Sized Landscape - ‘Moroccan Escape’.
Bronze – Residential Design - Small-Sized Landscape - ‘Small Space, Big Personality’.

This year’s program featured guest appearances by comedian and design advocate Tim Ross; TV personality and landscape architect Brendan Moar; and ARD’s Principal & LDI ambassador, Adam Robinson as MC.

Adam began the events with a special mention of RUOK day and TIACS, a not-for-profit organising offering free counselling and mental health support to blue collar workers, farmers and tradies including those in the landscaping industry.

The first half of the ceremony included categories such as Community Contribution and Emerging Designer.  A standout moment was the keynote presentation by Tim Ross, whose short film and entertaining and insightful talk explored Australia’s cultural connection to place and design.

The second half of the ceremony recognised excellence in residential design including balcony, courtyard, rural, and large-scale landscapes. Guests enjoyed lunch and dessert in a stunning garden-view setting, with celebrations continuing at the outdoor bar following the event.

“It was inspiring to be in a room full of people who are not just designing beautiful spaces, but shaping the way people live, connect, and feel outdoors,” said Adam Robinson, LDI Ambassador, Sydney Landscape Designer.
