Euphorbia Tirucalli

Firesticks

Euphorbia Tirucalli is more commonly known as Euphorbia Firesticks and is from tropical Africa.  Firesticks resemble sea coral and therefore have a wonderful sculptural quality and are an excellent drought tolerant plant and are always happy as long as they are in areas of constant heavy rainfall.  With good drainage in the soil, this evergreen will grow and add gorgeous colour to your garden, especially in winter when the stems turn a vibrant almost fluro pinky-orange colour.

They can be pruned easily to keep their size in check and are great to grow in containers.  Being a succulent shrub you can propogate them easily from cuttings. This is a highly resilient plant that is the perfect addition to any garden but is particularly suited to coastal and Mediterranean style gardens.
