Forma
Brickworks and Mud Australia

Two of Australia’s most iconic brands, Brickworks and Mud Australia have collaborated to create a limited -edition product – the Forma paver.
The Forma paver measures 400mm x 400mm and is made with 15% reclaimed ceramic waste from Mud Australia, blending cutting-edge innovation with artisan craftsmanship. This one-of-a-kind partnership redefines how materials are used, offering a sustainable and elegant paving solution that highlights both creativity and technical expertise.
Produced locally in New South Wales, the Forma paver showcases a refined color palette inspired by Mud Australia’s signature tones. Each paver embodies the tactile, handcrafted quality that both brands are known for, making it the perfect choice for architects, designers, and homeowners who prioritize sustainable, design-forward surfaces in their projects.
This exclusive collaboration marks the beginning of an ongoing creative relationship, with plans to release new editions and color variations every year. Forma is more than just a product—it’s a declaration of how design, sustainability, and innovation can come together, challenging traditional views on materials and transforming the spaces we inhabit.
In a time when thoughtful design is more important than ever, the Forma paver is a prime example of sustainable product development. Each piece is crafted using 15% reclaimed ceramic fragments from Mud Australia’s production process—offcuts and imperfect pieces that are repurposed rather than discarded. These fragments are crushed and blended into the concrete mix, resulting in a terrazzo-like finish that’s both refined and tactile. The outcome is a durable, textured material that reflects the circular design principles shared by both brands.
Brett Ward, General Manager of Marketing at Brickworks, calls the collaboration a perfect alignment of values: “Great design is about innovation, longevity, and respecting materials. Brickworks has always prioritized sustainability, and with Forma, we are pushing the limits of how discarded materials can be reimagined. This collaboration expands our range of products using recycled materials, further solidifying our commitment to responsible and intentional design.”
He adds that the partnership between the two brands was a natural fit: “Both Brickworks and Mud Australia share a commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and local manufacturing, grounded in Australian values and a design-centric approach. We recognized the technical similarities between Mud’s ceramic production and our own—precision, attention to detail, and a shared dedication to creating products that enhance the built environment.”
Shelley Simpson, founder of Mud Australia, echoes this perspective: “For decades, our focus has been on creating pieces that stand the test of time. With Forma, we’re taking that philosophy a step further by transforming imperfections into innovation. It’s about honouring materials, embracing circularity, and designing something truly meaningful for architects and designers.”
