FEATURE - Better Homes & Gardens

Our Redfern Rooftop Feature

One of Adam Robinson Design’s all time favourite rooftop and balcony design projects will feature in Better Homes & Gardens magazine. We have had such fun working on this project and we’re excited to see it in print, as well as a feature in an upcoming episode of the show.

The design of this outdoor space took a disused rooftop and created a beautiful outdoor oasis for it’s residents. The design acts as an extension to the indoor living spaces, almost doubling the living areas of this top floor apartment.

As a design feature, the entire space is broken up in to several distinct living zones. It features a comfortable and generously sized lounge area, stylish dining area and a sunny retreat zone in an otherwise unused side area.

The two main living areas are covered by a practical and contemporary shade solution. The awning is retractable, which can be rolled away, and adjustable, to cover either the lounge or dining area.

We love how the styling of the plant life has grown in to make this a lush garden. Different planter boxes line the walls to create a textural boundary and clusters of mixed finished pots hold oversized plants. We think this really makes the space feel like a lush green garden.

The owners of the Redfern rooftop now spend all the time they can in the space. It’s a great example of how a new outdoor design can really change living habits and make an apartment the size of a house.

Keep an eye our for Adam on the Better Homes & Gardens show on channel 7 in the next couple of weeks!
