Emu Bush

Eremophila Nivea

This is such a pretty evergreen, mound-shaped native shrub.  Emu Bush has delicate silvery foliage and purple tubular flowers in Spring and Summer – so it’s flowering right now.  It’s just as stunning without flowers and it’s a tactile, textural plant.

Definitely striking enough to be a feature plant in your garden because of its wow factor.  It’s a good screening plant and will attract birds, butterflies and bees.  This is a good plant for drier areas and won’t do well in very humid temperate zones.  It needs a sunny spot and good drainage and loves to be pruned to thicken and strengthen it up and encourage flowering.  Emu Bush can be grown successfully in a pot too.
