A Powerful Message from Paul Kelly
We love that leading Australian singer-songwriter Paul Kelly has released this powerful new single – Sleep, Australia, Sleep – a clear message that tackles Australia’s lack of action on climate change and environmental destruction. We also hate that he (so rightly) felt that he had to write it.
“Sleep, Australia, Sleep is a lament in the form of a lullaby. Paradoxically, it can also be heard as a wakeup call - a critique of the widespread attitude amongst humans that we are the most important life form on the planet. I believe we’ve reached a tipping point now where this attitude is doing terrible harm to all life on earth. I hope the song doesn’t come true but some of it already has.”
We are choosing to think positively and are hoping that the recent catastrophic bushfires have made sure that everyone is now ‘woke’ to the challenges ahead and will do what’s necessary for a better outcome for our beautiful country and the whole planet.
