The Euphorbia Ammak
Euphorbia Ammak is an impressive, tree-like cacti/succulent from the Euphoriaceae family and originated in Saudi Arabia and Yemen. It can reach up to 6mtrs in height and 3mtrs in width. This exotic beauty has great sculptural verticality and has thick and fleshy stem and the branches have longitudinal, uneven ridges with evenly spaced dangerous spikes growing along each ridge.
There are two varieties; one with pale green stems and a variegated variety with marbled cream-yellow and pale bluish green stems. The sap is poisonous and can burn the skin so please wear gloves and eye protection when moving or pruning the plant. They prefer moist well drained soil and are a very low maintenance.
